Hegyestű Geological Visitors’ Site

From the direction of Lake Balaton it looks like a mountain, but from the other side it is a stone quarry - this is Hegyestű. The former volcano has now cooled down, but the lava frozen in the crater has become a unique rock formation, from the top of which a breathtaking view opens up. Those who were never interested in geology should definitely come here: when looking at the open-air stone park, it becomes clear: the history of millions of years is concealed under one's very feet.
