Balaton small circle - the eastern basin

Every journey begins with the first step. Circumnavigating the eastern basin of Lake Balaton is an ideal one-day program, serving as the 'antechamber' to the 140 km or 200 km full-circle tours. We commence this tour from Balatonfüred, circumnavigate the eastern basin clockwise, and return to Balatonfüred after crossing the Szántód-Tihany ferry and visiting Tihany.

Starting from Balatonfüred, we comfortably cycle through Csopak, Alsóörs, and Balatonalmádi, eventually reaching Balatonfűzfő. The bike route includes both dedicated bike lanes and portions on regular roads, with opportunities to take a break at Tobruk Beach or the lakeside promenade in Fűzfő. Along the way, numerous restaurants, snack bars, and refreshment points await cyclists. After conquering the Kenese hill, we are rewarded with the magnificent view from the Akaratty high bank. Our route then takes us through the former Party Resort, Club Aliga, to Siófok, where we ascend the water tower, and after Zamárdi, we board the ferry at Szántód. Following a short boat trip, we make a visit to Tihany. From there, we 'roll back' to our accommodation in Balatonfüred. The total length of this route is approximately 78 km.
